Live Workshop Series · Six Sessions

Understand your store's data without hiring an analyst.

Six live workshops walk e-commerce owners through enhanced e-commerce tracking, funnel reports, customer segmentation, and lifetime value, ending in one simple dashboard built around the three questions that matter most.

Why store owners take this course

Most store owners already have the data. What's missing is a way to read it.

Enhanced e-commerce tracking is usually installed at some point and then left alone. Reports pile up in a dashboard nobody opens because the numbers don't answer anything specific. This course was built around a narrower goal: take the data your store is already collecting and turn it into four working habits, tracking that can be trusted, funnel reading that finds the actual leak, segments that separate one-time buyers from the customers worth keeping, and a lifetime value figure calculated from your own order history.

The six workshops

One live session per topic, in a set order that builds on itself.

01

Enhanced E-Commerce Tracking, Set Up Correctly

Configure tracking so every product view, add-to-cart, checkout step, and purchase is recorded accurately, and learn how to test it before trusting a single number.

02

Reading Funnel Reports To Find Drop-Off Points

Read a purchase funnel the way an analyst does, tell ordinary drop-off apart from a broken step, and decide which leak to look at first.

03

Segmenting Traffic By Acquisition Source

Break visitors and customers down by channel, organic search, paid social, email, referral, and compare behavior after the first click, not just at arrival.

04

Customer Segmentation Beyond First Purchase

Group customers into one-time buyers, repeat buyers, high order value, and lapsed customers, built directly from data already sitting in your store.

05

Calculating Customer Lifetime Value From Existing Data

Turn order history into a working lifetime value estimate using purchase frequency, average order value, and estimated customer lifespan.

06

Building Your Dashboard: The Three Questions That Matter

Assemble everything into one dashboard organized around three questions, where drop-off happens, which channels return paying customers, and what each segment is worth.

The dashboard, distilled

One dashboard. Three questions.

The final workshop is not about adding more charts. It is about removing everything that does not answer one of three questions, then arranging what's left so a single glance is enough.

  1. 01 Where are we losing customers before checkout?
  2. 02 Which channels bring customers who actually come back?
  3. 03 What is each customer segment worth over the long run?

How the course runs

A straightforward path from registration to a working dashboard.

01

Register

Reserve a seat in the next live cohort and receive the workshop calendar, prep checklist, and access details by email.

02

Attend

Join six live sessions, each built around one part of the tracking-to-dashboard workflow, with open Q&A at the end of every session.

03

Apply

Work through the exercises using your own store's data between sessions, so the dashboard you build reflects your actual numbers.

04

Refine

Return to your dashboard after the series ends, adjust segment definitions, and keep the reporting habit going on your own schedule.

Who teaches this

Taught by someone who read these reports for a living, not just built them.

Dana Whitfield spent years inside e-commerce operations teams, working with the same tracking tools and dashboards that store owners install and then quietly stop using. This course is structured the way the material was actually learned: one workflow at a time, tied to a real question, not a feature tour.

Frequently asked questions

No prior analytics or coding background is assumed. Each workshop explains the concept in plain language before showing where to click or what to configure. A few sessions include short snippets of tracking code, but writing code yourself is not required to follow along.

The tracking workshop covers setup patterns common across store platforms including Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Adobe Commerce (Magento). Platform-specific screens are shown where they differ, and the underlying tracking concepts carry over to other platforms too.

Each session is recorded and made available to registered participants shortly after it airs. The recording includes the Q&A from that session, though you would not be able to ask a live question in real time for a session you missed.

The focus is reading and interpreting data, not prescribing marketing tactics. You will learn to find where a funnel breaks down and how to size the customer segments behind it. What to change in response depends on decisions specific to your store.

The lifetime value workshop works with whatever order history you already have, even a few months of data. More history produces a steadier estimate, but the method taught is meant to work with partial data and to be revisited as more orders accumulate.

No. The workshops are independently produced and reference commonly used analytics platforms for illustration only. No vendor sponsorship or affiliation is implied, and the concepts taught apply regardless of which analytics tool a store currently has installed.
